Free Copywriter Invoice Template
A freelance copywriter invoice template for articles, blog posts, email sequences, ad copy, and web content. Covers per-project, per-word, and hourly billing with example line items and payment term guidance. What to include on a copywriter invoice: your name or business name and contact information, the client's name and company, a unique invoice number, invoice date and payment due date, a clear description of every deliverable (article titles, word counts, number of emails, specific pages), the agreed rate or flat fee, and payment instructions with a direct payment link. Per-project billing: list each deliverable separately — for example, '3 blog posts (1,200 words each) — Q2 content package' — and the agreed project fee. This is the most common billing method for content work and avoids disputes over word counts or hours. Per-word billing: list the word count delivered, your per-word rate, and the total. Include the article or deliverable title so there's no confusion about what was written. Hourly billing: list the hours worked on each deliverable with a brief description. Useful for research-heavy or revision-intensive engagements. Revision scope: specify the number of revision rounds included in your original quote. Additional rounds outside scope should be invoiced as a separate line item. Payment terms: Net 14 or Net 15 are standard for copywriting work. Follow up promptly if an invoice goes unpaid — polite reminders sent 1–3 days after the due date are the most effective. Payment link: every invoice in Duevero includes a secure link your client opens in any browser. Eligible invoices can be paid online by card when you connect your Square account.
